In the first chapter is stated history of titanium manufacturing. Following chapter include the most important property of pure titanium, such as alotropic modifications of the crystal grid, chemical, physical and technological characteristics, there is also space, that is assigned for using contemporary division of titanium alloys, detrimental effect of impurity, shape memory effect and intermetallics instance. Third part concern about selected application in industry. The conclusion pursue about biocompatibility factor and possibility use titanium and its alloys in implantology and dental applications.
CNC pocket milling of aeronautical alloys
Wiecková, Kateřina ; Sedlák, Josef (referee) ; Ohnišťová, Petra (advisor)
The aim of the work is to generate and verify pocket milling technology in aviation alloy 7475-T7351 with respect to machine time, surface and machining productivity. First part of the work is theoretical analysis of cycles of milling of simple and complex pockets. Next part of the work is focused on the desing and optimization of strategy of milling of simple and complex pockets in CAM programs and its experimental verification.
Machining of titanium alloys
Horáček, David ; Mouralová, Kateřina (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
This thesis is focused on titanium and its alloys, in terms of properties and uses. The problems of machinability, cutting tools, quality of machined surfaces and machining method are discussed. Threads in titanium alloys Ti-6AI-4V were cut in the practical part. The intention was to compare torque moments and surface quality of threads by using two cutting oils.
Machining of titanium alloys
Müller, Peter ; Sliwková, Petra (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
The bachelor thesis specifies the most important properties and production processes of titanium, categorizes titanium alloys and their properties. In the experimental part, titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V blank was machined and cutting forces were measured, depending on selected feeds per revolution. Subsequently specific cutting force was calculated and compared with values given by the tool manufacturers.
Titanium and its alloys in aviation
Černota, Jan ; Adam, Ondřej (referee) ; Němec, Karel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of the use of titanium and its alloys in aviation. First, it deals with titanium as a light metal, its history, occurrence, use, manufacture, and properties. Then about its alloys, their division, and the characteristics of individual alloys, considering their utility for aerospace applications. The main part deals with the use of titanium and its alloys in the aerospace industry, where the performance requirements of materials used in aviation are summarised, how titanium meets these properties and for which components titanium is most often used. The thesis also predicts the development of the use of these materials in the aerospace industry.
The use of the Titanium Alloy in the Bicycle Industry
Reichman, Ladislav ; Věchet, Stanislav (referee) ; Němec, Karel (advisor)
This final thesis summarizes the basic information on titanium and its alloys. It describes the mechanical properties, technological characteristics, methods of forming and heat treatment of titanium alloys. It informs of their use in bicycle industry.
Structure and properties of welded joint TiAl6V4 / 6061 made by electron beam technology
Král, Michael ; Jan, Vít (referee) ; Foret, Rudolf (advisor)
Titanium and aluminium alloys are among the most used construct materials due to their physical and mechanical properties except steels. The joining of these alloys can improve properties of whole construction but it is still difficult task. Especially welding of titanium and aluminium alloys is difficult cause formation of undesirable intermetalic phases in the weld. This thesis focuses on influences of electron beam welding parameters especially focusing and deflection of beam and preheating of base material to quality of heterogeneous join of titanium alloy Ti6Al4V and aluminium alloy EN AW-6061 – T651. There is described preparation of welded joins and brazed joins in the thesis, which are evaluated by light microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and EDS analysis of chemical composition. There was evaluated presence and chemical composition of formated intermetalic phases in the welded joins and quality and defects in the brazed joins.
The Material Selection for Bicycle Frames
Šály, Peter ; Petrenec, Martin (referee) ; Němec, Karel (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis summarises basic information about materials that are used for production of bicykle's frames. It concerns not only with common materials that are the most used nowadays, thus aluminium alloys and composite materials – carbon in the concrete, but it also pointed on the other, alternative materials. It also explains specific terms that relate to concrete materials or to their technological treating. Each material has listed characteristic which is objective thus measurable and it results from physical-chemical's properties and treating possibilities of concrete materials. It conveys assumption of frame behaviour made from this material. Subjective characteristic is also listed and it results from practice – from the feelings by real ride. Comparison of these two approaches resulted in conclusion which may help in choosing material for bicykle's frame which we have specific requirements on. Next thesis concerns with usage of concrete materials by various producers whether world producers or national ones, with orientation on brands which are interesting because of their treating of unusual materials or they are interesting because of their specific treating of common materials. There is a brief review of most used materials for concrete types of bicycle's frames at the end of the thesis.
Biocompatible titanium alloys and theirs application
Hofírek, Michal ; Kohout, Jan (referee) ; Věchet, Stanislav (advisor)
This thesis presents use of titanium alloys in medical applications in form of literature research. In first part the basic properties of titanium as element are discussed as well as its behavior in alloys. Next part focuses on proper explanation of term biocompatibility and sums up specific requirements for alloys used in orthopaedic applications. These properties are shown on alloy Ti-6Al-4V ELI and other selected titanium based alloys which are currently being developed.
Macro and microstructure of weld joints made of titanium alloy TiAl6V4 by electron beam
Prachař, Václav ; Havlík, Petr (referee) ; Foret, Rudolf (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate macro and microstructures of weld joints made of titanium alloy Ti6Al4V by electron beam welding with different processing parameters of electron beam and evaluate the impact of this processing parameters to the structure of resultant weld joints. The theoretical part deals with titanium and its alloys, the titanium alloy Ti6Al4V and electron beam welding technology. In the experimental part, 11 weld joints are evaluated, their macro and microstructures and hardness profiles.
